The Homeland Security Foundation of America (HSFA) Appoints Tim Crockett to the Board

Tim Crockett, Executive Director, AKE Group, joins HSFA’s Board of Directors

The Homeland Security Foundation of America (“HSFA”), a non-profit, non-Federal public agency for Public Safety, Energy Security and Health and Human Services announced today the appointment of Tim Crockett to its Board of Directors.

“Public Safety is one of our highest priorities, specifically because of its short-range impact,” said Eric Brown, President and Chairman of the Board, HSFA. “Mr. Crockett is an experienced field operator with maritime and counterterrorism experience. His unique background and approach to security will be most useful as we begin to shape the future of the Public Safety programs outlined in our mission template, involving security operational readiness and awareness.”

Tim Crockett is a dynamic business leader with a variety of specialist skills and commercial experience. His specialties include organizational management, planning and training development, with a core focus on security risk mitigation and related activities. He’s a former member of the British Special Forces and was a Team Leader of a maritime counterterrorism team. Currently, Crockett is Executive Director for AKE Group, which provides hostile environment training and security for CNN, Fox News as well other major media outlets, NGO’s and business clients. Prior to joining AKE he lead a number of projects including two anti-piracy initiatives, one off the west coast of Africa for a telecommunications company laying a fiber optic cable, and then another from India to Singapore.

In addition to joining the board, Crocket has been appointed Chairman of HSFA’s Public Safety Committee, which oversees programs, technologies and services to help improve domestic public safety and civil defense.

“It is an honor to join such a professional group of individuals and be part of such a progressive organization,” said Crockett. “The work that HSFA has done and continues to do is not only important for today, but is vitally important for the future safety and security of the USA.”
